Dressing for the Holidays: New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve is my favorite holiday. I love new beginnings, setting goals, and celebrating the new year with the best people in your life from the current year. Like any holiday, I love dressing up and being festive. For New Year's Eve, the dress code is simple: wear what makes you feel confident.

For me, anything sparkly and fitted makes me feel confident. I'm a Leo, so naturally, I am confident and I don't mind if I draw attention. The way I think about dressing for New Year's Eve is pretty similar to Halloween.

"Halloween," as Mean Girls would put it, "is the one day a year when a girl can dress up like a total slut and no other girls can say anything else about it."

New Year's Eve, however, is the one day a year when you can wear anything ridiculously shimmery, sparkly, or glittery and no one else can say anything about it.

See what I'm saying?

Anyway, in this post, I have a few looks that I think you ladies will really love to rock while celebrating the new year.

All That Glitters

Break out the sequin minis, shimmer rompers, and high-shine shoes. NYE is your night to shine and you better not miss it! Personally, my favorite place to buy show stopping, shiny pieces is ASOS. They have everything from cocktail attire to black tie, so get to shopping now!

Give em' the cold shoulder

Windsor is my go-to for buying last-minute dresses. There's one less than ten minutes from my house, so usually I'll be running there the day of to pick out what I'm going to wear. Lately, I've been obsessed with the off the shoulder trend, which is a simple way to add a little sex appeal to your look.

WINTER WHITE feels right

Bring in the New Year in white! Look clean, sexy, and pure all at once. With so many details and styles of dresses, you'll be guaranteed to find one that suits you. White looks good on everyone (even better if you have a faux glow!). Just make sure to stay away from the colored cocktails. Maybe stick to champagne to make sure your dress doesn't end up with stains. I love how sexy & chic the dresses at Akira are!

show a little skin

So how do you show some skin on NYE without feeling too exposed? Mesh! Mesh will let you show off whatever you'd like, while still keeping you covered and (somewhat) warm. It's sexy, practical, and absolutely breath-taking. My favorite mesh dresses at the moment can be found at Nasty Gal.

I hope you ladies love these looks! Feel free to just use them as inspiration and go out and find what makes you feel best. These are just some of my favorite trends! Have a wonderful celebration and feel free to contact me if you need any help finding a certain look!
